For the Gladfelter Family, playing drums in the Brodbecks Band is a tradition that dates back to 1878 when the Band was founded. Ephraim was the first to start playing drums in the band. His son, Charles Luther, was next, followed by his sons Curtis and Daniel, all playing drums. Curtis?s son Lavern and Daniel?s son Dale also played drums in the Band. Luther?s son John also played in the Band, but he played trumpet. Dale is the last Gladfelter still playing drums in the Brodbecks Band. Congratulations Dale and the Gladfelter Family!
One of our members, Dale Gladfelter, was honored recently for being a member of the Brodbecks Band for 70 years! Also, his family has had a member in the percussion section since the band was founded in 1878. Congratulations, Dale, for your dedication and service for 70 years of service to the Band!
